Galiano Soap Works
This 650 square foot retail building was developed in close coordination with the owners to serve as the home of Galiano Island Soap Works. The goal was to create a straightforward structure that supports retail use while reflecting the character of the island.
The building is compact in scale, with a simple form and clear structural expression. A wide covered porch runs along the front façade and continues partway down one side, providing sheltered entry and outdoor display space.
Custom-built sliding garage doors open along the main elevation, allowing the storefront to be fully opened in fair weather and creating a direct relationship between the interior and the porch.

A loft above the main floor offers additional storage and operational space. It is accessed by a custom-built ladder that folds out of the way when not in use, maintaining flexibility within the limited footprint.
